Swimming & Diving Teams Head to ECAC Championship
Feb. 28, 2013
ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Fresh off of winning both team titles at last weekend's Patriot League Championship, the Navy swimming and diving teams will try to repeat their performance this weekend when the Mids take part in the ECAC Championship. The three-day meet being contested at Blodgett Pool on the Harvard campus in Boston runs Friday through Sunday.
Links to live results from the championship will be available at NavySports.com.
Both Navy programs won their respective ECAC title last year when it was contested in Lejeune Hall. The men's team won its fourth ECAC crown in as many years, while the women's team captured its first ECAC championship in program history.
"We are expecting a competitive meet this weekend," said Navy men's swimming head coach Bill Roberts. "Like last week, this will be a great chance to get up and race and see what we can do."
"It is always a challenge to compete for championships on back-to-back weekends," said Navy women's swimming head coach John Morrison, "but it is a fun challenge. We have a talented team going to Boston and we are eager to see what they can accomplish."
Among the 29 men's teams and 26 women's teams competing at the ECAC Championship are Bucknell, Marist, Boston University, Columbia, Rider and meet-host Harvard.
