Navy’s Barber Earns League Weekly Honor
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. –– Navy’s Lauren Barber (Jr., New Wilmington, Pa.) has been selected as this week’s Patriot League Women’s Swimmer of the Week. The league office made the announcement on Tuesday to recognize Barber’s efforts in helping the Mids win the Frank Elm Invite hosted by Rutgers.
The Mids won the 10-team event by 600 points thanks in part to Barber winning three individual events and swimming on two victorious relay teams. She won the 200 individual medley (2:00.29), 100 breaststroke (1:01.96) and 200 breaststroke (2:14.18) events by a combined 4.58 seconds. Barber also swam on Navy’s winning 400 freestyle and 800 freestyle relay teams. She additionally swam the breaststroke leg on both the 200 medley (sixth place) and 400 medley (fifth) relay teams.
This is the third league weekly award garnered by Barber this season and the 12th of her career.
Navy will next be in action Dec. 7 when the Mids play host to Army West Point.
