FALL 2009
• Guthrie recorded a 2-2 singles record and a 1-3 doubles mark during the fall.
• Won her first match of the season, with a three-set victory over St. Francis' (Pa.) Maya Ranchod in the Bill & Sandra Moore Invitational. She rallied from losing the first set 0-6, to winning 6-4, 1-0 (10-2).
• Then won her next match over Towson's Jaclyn Tamburo, 7-5, 4-6, 1-0 (10-5) to reach the semifinals.
• Teamed with Rebecca Carlson to win a doubles match in the Bill & Sandra Moore Invitational against a pair from Rider, 8-2.

A 2006 graduate of Mountain Pointe High School, Guthrie lettered three times in tennis ... also lettered three times in badminton, garnering numerous honors and leading team to two state titles ... won the Joe Selluh Award (character award - tennis) four times ... was a member of the National Honor Society, Foreign Language Honor Society and served as class vice-president three times ... while at Navy, has been a member of the USNA Glee Club, Campus Girl Scouts and the Catholic Midshipmen Club.

Carissa Jayne Guthrie ... daughter of Ryan and Gloria Guthrie ... born Sept. 30, 1988, in Harrisburg, Pa. ... is one of three Guthrie girls in the Navy and all three of the them (Carissa, Vanessa and Dyana) were on the same ship for their summer cruise in 2007 ... sister, Vanessa, ran cross country and track at the Naval Academy and graduated in 2005 ... majoring in English.
