ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Navy women's tennis team continued its red-hot play, topping Delaware, 5-2, on Thursday afternoon at the Brigade Sports Complex.

The win moves Navy's record to 17-3 overall and was its 15th victory in a row. Delaware, which was ranked as high as No. 62 nationally a couple of weeks ago, fell to 6-2 overall.

For the fifth straight match, the Midshipmen won the crucial doubles point, this time winning all three matches for only the sixth time in 20 matches this spring.

Senior Emani Decquir (Sacramento, Calif.) and freshman Sam Droop (Hilton Head Island, S.C.) won Navy's first finished doubles match with a 9-7 win at No. 2 to run their record to 7-8 overall and 5-6 in dual-meet action.

Navy then won the doubles point at No. 1 doubles when Noelle Kaufmann (So. / Westlake, Ohio) and Erin Snook (Jr. / Tampa, Fla.) took an 8-6 decision for the 1-0 match lead for the Midshipmen. Snook and Kaufmann improved to 8-12 in doubles action this year.

Logan Antill (Fr. / Butler, Pa.) and Darien Sears (Jr. / Silver Spring, Md.) closed out the doubles sweep at No. 3 with a 9-8 (4) victory. Antill and Sears won their team-best ninth doubles match of the season, all coming in dual play.

The Midshipmen then won four-of-six singles matches to earn their 17th win of the season, now just five shy of the school-record 22 won during the 2011 season.

Snook won her school-record 63rd match of her career with a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Carmen Lai at No. 2 singles. Snook's win gave Navy a 2-0 match lead and was her 16th win of the season.

Freshman Katie Porter (Matthews, N.C.) continued her impressive spring season with a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 6 singles for a 3-0 Navy cushion. Porter is now 9-2 this year, all coming during the spring season.

Senior Stefanie Ton (Milpitas, Calif.) then clinched the match for the Midshipmen at No. 5 singles with a 3-6, 6-2, 6-1 win over Olivia Heim. Ton improved to 14-8 this year and the win was her 58th singles victory of her career.

After dropping matches at Nos. 4 and 3, Decquir closed out the match with an impressive 6-4, 6-7 (9-11), 1-0 (10-5) victory at No. 1 singles against Delaware's Danea Jonjic. Decquir improved to 15-11 this year and won her 61st career match.

Navy opens Patriot League play this weekend in Annapolis, when it hosts Bucknell on Saturday at 2:30 PM and Colgate on Sunday at 10:00 AM. All matches are free at the Brigade Sports Complex.
