WEST POINT, N.Y. -- The Navy women's tennis team won the doubles point, then breezed in the first three completed singles matches to defeat Lafayette, 4-0, in Friday's Patriot League Tournament quarterfinals.

The win moves Navy's record to 24-4 overall and pushes the Midshipmen into Saturday's 2:00 PM semifinals against the winner of third-seeded Bucknell and sixth-seeded Holy Cross.

"It was good to get out and compete and we were really looking forward to playing today. I liked what I saw and thought we got out quickly. There is always room for improvement, but we had a business-like performance and we are looking forward to tomorrow and playing again," said Navy head coach Keith Puryear.

The Midshipmen wasted little time in disposing of Lafayette. Navy won at Nos. 2 and 3 doubles to clinch the doubles point and take a 1-0 match lead. Emani Decquir (Sr. / Sacramento, Calif.) and Sam Droop (Fr. / Hilton Head Island, S.C.) combined for an 8-2 victory at No. 2 and Darien Sears (Jr. / Silver Spring, Md.) and Logan Antill (Fr. / Butler, Pa.) won at No. 3 doubles by an 8-1 score to give Navy a quick 1-0 advantage.

Navy then won the three completed singles matches by allowing just one game won by Lafayette to wrap up the victory, 4-0.

Erin Snook (Jr. / Tampa, Fla.) gave Navy a 2-0 match lead with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 2 singles over Jordyn Spellberg. The win was Snook's 24th of the season, tying the school record for singles wins in a season.

Darien Sears gave Navy a 3-0 lead with a 6-0, 6-0 triumph over Amanda Kusnierz for her 19th win of the year.

The Midshipmen concluded the match at No. 4 singles when Antill defeated Catherine Senopoulos, 6-1, 6-0. The win was Antill's 24th win of the season, and along with Snook, tied the school record for wins in a season.

Navy was leading at Nos. 1, 5 and 6 when the players were called off the court when Navy clinched the victory.
