The Navy women's tennis team (1-1) will host two matches at the Tose Family Tennis Center in the Brigade Sports Complex this weekend. Navy will host Saint Joseph's (0-0) on Saturday at 4:00 PM and Georgetown (1-2) on Sunday at 11:00 AM.
Navy split its first two dual matches of the spring season last weekend. The Mids blanked Saint Francis U, 7-0, at home before falling at No. 49 Penn State, 7-0.
Senior Erin Snook went 1-1 last weekend at No. 1 singles and is currently tied with 2013 graduate Emani Decquir for first place in school history with 127 combined singles and doubles wins. Snook already owns the school record for most singles wins with her 76-33 career record and her 51 doubles wins rank second to only Decquir's 59.
Navy has won 16-straight home dual matches, with its last home loss coming to Saint Joseph's on January 26, 2013. Navy used split squads that day while playing at two different sites. Navy's starters earned a 7-0 win at St. Bonaventure, while the reserves fell at home to Saint Joseph's, 5-2.
Navy won the doubles points against Saint Joseph's and sophomore Katie Porter earned the lone singles win at No. 6 last season. Navy holds a 2-1 lead in the overall series against Saint Joseph's. The Mids defeated the Hawks in 2012 (6-1) and 2011 (6-1).
Navy will be playing Georgetown in a dual match for the first time but the two teams did compete against each other at Navy's Blue & Gold Invitational this past fall. Navy was 3-0 against Georgetown players in singles flights while the Hoyas won the only doubles matchup.
Navy will continue its 17-match homestand by hosting four opponents next weekend. Navy will face George Washington and Villanova on Saturday and then George Mason and Morgan State on Sunday.
