Mids to Host Lehigh on Thursday in Women's Tennis

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Navy women's tennis team (18-7, 3-1 PL) will host Lehigh (6-8, 1-1 PL) at the Fluegel-Moore Tennis Stadium at the Brigade Sports Complex at 3:00 PM on Thursday.
Following the Lehigh contest on Thursday, Navy will host Loyola on Sunday for Senior Day in its regular season finale. The nine-team Patriot League Tournament, which will be hosted by Bucknell, will be played from April 17-20.
Navy leads the all-time series against Lehigh, 4-0. The Mids have defeated the Mountain Hawks by a 6-1 score on three occasions and posted a 7-0 sweep once.
Lehigh is coming off a 6-1 win over rival Lafayette on Tuesday. Colgate knocked Lehigh out of the Patriot League Tournament in the quarterfinals last season, 4-1.
Navy is coming off a 7-0 sweep of Lafayette on Sunday. The Mids won all six singles matches in straight sets and went 72-14 in singles games.
Navy senior Erin Snook has won five straight singles matches and she has an overall record of 17-9. Snook, who is 13-5 at No. 1 singles, is one win away from tying 2013 graduate Emani Decquir's single season record of 14 wins at the No. 1 position. Snook already holds records for most wins in a season at the No. 4 position (17) and the No. 5 position (14).
Snook is also one doubles win away from tying Decquir's school record of 59. Snook is already the school-record holder for career singles wins (88) and combined singles and doubles wins (146).
Fellow senior Darien Sears currently ranks second to Snook in career singles wins (76) and career combined wins (132). Sears is third behind Decquir and Snook in doubles wins (56). Navy's No. 2 singles player has an overall record of 16-11 this season.
Sophomore Sam Droop has been having an outstanding season at No. 3 singles. Droop is 19-10 overall and 15-3 in singles action. Droop has won six straight singles matches.
Navy enters Thursday's match with an all-time record of 98-29 and would reach 100 wins with victories against Lehigh on Thursday and Loyola on Sunday. This is only Navy's fifth season playing intercollegiate varsity competition.
