ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Navy women's tennis team will close out Patriot League play this weekend, when it travels to the Lehigh Valley for matches with Lafayette and Lehigh on Saturday and Sunday. Navy takes on Lafayette at 11:00 AM on Saturday in Easton, Pa., before battling Lehigh at 11:00 AM on Sunday in Bethlehem, Pa.
The Midshipmen enter the weekend with a 20-4 overall record and as winners of 18 of their last 19 matches. Navy has won at least 20 matches in a season for the third straight year and with a pair of wins this weekend, can match the school record of 22 wins set during the 2011 season. Navy is 2-1 in Patriot League play, having defeated Bucknell and Colgate by 7-0 scores before losing to Army last weekend, 6-1.
Lehigh enters the weekend with a 5-12 overall record and a 2-2 record in the Patriot League. Lafayette is 4-7 overall and 0-3 in the Patriot League.
Navy is coming off a 6-1 victory over Towson on Wednesday to wrap up its 2013 home schedule. The Midshipmen are led by junior Erin Snook (Tampa, Fla.), who owns a 20-10 record and an 11-3 dual-meet mark. Snook has won five matches in a row and owns a brilliant 48-12 career dual-meet record. She is Navy's all-time wins leader with 67, and her 20 wins this year are sixth most in a season in school history.
Logan Antill (Fr. / Butler, Pa.) leads Navy with 21 victories and her 41 combined victories this year are just one shy of the Navy single-season combined wins total (42 by Snook in 2011). Emani Decquir (Sr. / Sacramento, Calif.) owns an 18-12 record this year, needing just one win to move into the single-season top 10 wins list. She ranks second on the career wins total with 64.
Stefanie Ton (Sr. / Milpitas, Calif.) follows with 17 wins, Darien Sears (Jr. / Silver Spring, Md.) has added 15 wins and freshman Katie Porter (Matthews, N.C.) rounds out the line-up with 12 wins, all coming during the spring season to lead the Midshipmen with 12 dual-meet victories.
Navy is 2-0 against Lafayette and 3-0 all-time against Lehigh. The Midshipmen have won the five matches by a combined 33-2 score.
Navy will close out its regular season on April 18, when it faces future Patriot League opponent Loyola, Md., at 3:00 PM in Baltimore.
