ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Navy women's tennis team landed five student-athletes on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, the league office announced today.
To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade-point average during the semester of their sport's championship. Recent graduates Dye Das (Cherry Hill, N.J.) and Stefanie Ton (Milpitas, Calif.), rising senior Darien Sears (Silver Spring, Md.), rising junior Kristy Yau (Dacula, Ga.) and rising sophomore Mikaela Carlson (Carmel, Ind.) all made the list for head coach Keith Puryear.
A total of 42 players from across the league earned the distinction with four of them posting 4.00 GPAs. Navy rising sophomore Mikaela Carlson (Carmel, Ind.) was one of them, earning a 4.00 GPA in political science during the spring semester. Carlson owns a cumulative 4.00 GPA after recording perfect GPAs during both semesters as a freshman.
It was the third honor roll accolade for Ton, the second for Sears and Yau and the first for Das and Carlson.
Navy finished last season with a 25-5 record and a No. 10 ITA / Mid-Atlantic Regional ranking.
