Women’s Tennis Adds Four Freshmen to Program

Head coach Keith Puryear
Aug. 25, 2017

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Navy women’s tennis head coach Keith Puryear has announced the program’s four-member incoming Class of 2021. The four incoming freshmen hail from Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina and Pennsylvania.

“I think this class will do a great job helping us with the depth that we’ve had on the team,” said Puryear. “They will help us try to replace two young ladies that graduated last May in Audrey Channell and Rozel Hernandez. These four will do a great job of helping to solidify our team and helping us with the run that we hope to make within our conference and in the N-Star match. The four all had very stellar junior careers and we look forward to having them join the program.”

The Mids will open the 2017-18 season, its 10th as a varsity program, at the Stony Brook Invitational from Sept. 8-10.

Navy was 18-12 in 2016-17 and 4-2 in the Patriot League.
