Coach Criste ON Choi:
"Debbi is a natural leader. She has completely maximized her potential in the weight room and on the practice field. She gives 100 percent and that has really set a really strong tone for the team this year. With continued hard work, she definitely has the potential to be an all-league caliber sprinter."

Choi in 2007-08: Enjoyed a breakout junior campaign ... scored in a pair of sprints in the Star Meet against Army, earning runner-up honors in the 55- and 200-meter dash events while helping the Mids claim their third-consecutive N-Star ... posted career-best times in both events against the Black Knights, clocking in at 7.47 in the 55 annd 26.37 in the 200 ... both those times represented Navy's top times in those events ... churned out a ninth-place finish in the 60-meter dash at the league championship meet ... once again was a factor against Army, scoring in both the 100- and 200-meter sprints with third-place honors in each event ... finished 13th in both the 100 and 200 sprints at the outdoor league championship ... earned 10 top-five finishes on the season.

2006-07: Participated in six meets as a sophomore ... earned a pair of top-eight finishes in the 55 and 200 during the indoor slate ... ran a season-best time of 27.52 in the 200 at the Navy Invitational, good for a 10th place finish.

2005-06: Completed in two events, the 55-meter and 200-meter dash during the indoor season.

High School / Personal: A 2005 graduate of River Hill High School in Clarksville, Md. ... totaled five letters in indoor (2) and outdoor (3) track and field where she competed primarily in sprint events ... member of county champion and state finalist 4x400-meter relay team ... served in student government and was member of school's marching band, Maryland Technology Honor Society and National Honor Society ... full name is Deborah Jun-Kyung Choi ... daughter of Yong and Stella Choi ... born June 4, 1987 in Takoma Park, Md. ... named to the Commandant's List following the spring of 2008.
