Women's Track Wraps Up Competition at the ECAC Indoor Championship

BOSTON, Mass. - The Navy women's indoor track and field team wrapped up its participation in the ECAC Indoor Championship at Boston University's Track and Tennis Center on Sunday. Navy tied for 51st with one team point. Connecticut won both the men's and women's team titles.
"All together we had a pretty decent day and the 3K went pretty well for us," said head coach Carla Criste.
Sophomore Annie-Norah Beveridge placed 10th in the 3,000m run on Sunday with a time of 9:45.98 and senior Brigid Byrne was 13th at 9:47.70. Freshman Kelley Robinson ran a 10:07.02 to place 23rd in the 3,000m run. Both Beveridge and Byrne established new personal-bests in the 3,000m. Beveridge's time is also the fifth-best in Academy history and Byrne's is the eighth-best.
The 3,000m capped off an impressive weekend for Beveridge and Byrne. On Saturday, Byrne placed eighth in the 5,000m run to earn All-East honors with a personal-best time of 16:46.75, the second-best time in Academy history. Beveridge placed ninth with a 16:49.11, her personal-best and the third-best time in Academic history.
Byrne was also second in the 5K and third in the 3K at the Patriot League Indoor Championship and Beveridge was second in the 3K and third in the 5K.
Junior Teronda Brown placed 14th in the shot put with a mark of 43-11¾ (13.40m), her second-best mark of the indoor season.
Navy will open the 2013 outdoor season on March 23rd at William & Mary's Tribe Open.
