WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Navy women's outdoor track and field team (16-0) defeated Army, 116-87, on Saturday at Shea Stadium in the annual Army-Navy Outdoor Star Meet. Navy has now won eight straight Star competitions in indoor and outdoor track and the Mids take a 26-25-1 lead in the all-time series. Navy has won four straight outdoor N-Star Meets and has evened the outdoor series at 13-13.
"We started out on a great note by going 1-2 in both the hammer and the long jump to build up a lead and we were able to maintain it throughout the day," head coach Carla Criste said. "Everybody rose to the occasion and worked really well together to ensure that our seniors would go out 8-0 against Army."
