ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Navy women's indoor track and field program (12-0) will compete at the Maryland Invitational on Saturday at 9:00 AM. The meet will be held just 25 miles away from Annapolis at the Prince George's Sports and Learning Complex in Landover, Md. Live results will be available on NavySports.com(.)
Over 20 area teams will be competing, including: American, Bowie State, Coppin State, Delaware, Maryland, Morgan State and Virginia.
The Mids last competed at the Navy Invitational last weekend, defeating five teams in a double-dual scored meet. Navy won three events and posted three ECAC Championship qualifying performances.
Senior Kristin Smith won the high jump with a clear of 5-7 (1.70m), sophomore Annie-Norah Beveridge won the 3,000m (10:11.64) and sophomore Christina Blair won the mile at 5:06.66.
Smith and Veronica Ffrench share the top spot on the Patriot League performance in the high jump at 5-7 (1.70m), junior Teronda Brown leads the league in the shot put (43-11¼/13.39m) and Navy has the league's top-ranked distance medley relay team (12:51.75).
Beveridge is second in the Patriot League in the 3,000m (10:11.64) and the 5,000m (17:05.73), Natasha Druggan is second in the 500m run (1:16.84) and Crystan McLymore is second in the triple jump (36-5½/11.11m).
Navy will next compete at George Mason's Patriot Games on Saturday, January 26.
