ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Navy women's indoor track and field team will compete at the 2014 ECAC Indoor Championship at Boston University's Track and Tennis Center from Saturday to Sunday. Live results will be available.

Navy has two qualified individual athletes competing in two events and will also be bringing a 4x800m relay team to the postseason regional meet.

Navy athletes will be competing in the trials of the 4x800m relay on Saturday, as well as the weight throw, which will have its finals on the same day. The Mids will compete in the shot put on Sunday, as well as the finals of the 4x800m and shot put, should Navy's athletes qualify.

Navy scored one point to place in a tie for 51st place in the 2013 ECAC Indoor Meet and one athlete earned All-East honors by placing in the top eight. Senior Brigid Byrne earned All-East honors in the 5,000m run by placing eighth with a personal-best time of 16:46.75, the second-best time in Academy history.

Senior Teronda Brown will compete in the shot put and weight throw and senior Maressa Guynn in the weight throw. Both competed in last year’s ECAC Championships in their respective events.

Navy is also sending a 4x800m relay team. Juniors Shannon Cuthbert, Madeline Zell and sophomores Ashley Welker and Christina Shawver posted Navy's best 4x800m time this season, a 9:21.63 at the Patriot League Indoor Championships.

This will be the last weekend of competition for the 2013-14 indoor season. Navy defeated Army this season, 104-77, for the ninth-straight year and placed fourth at the Patriot League Indoor Track and Field Championship.

Navy will open the 2014 outdoor season with the Navy Spring Invitational on March 22 in Annapolis.
