CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - The Navy women's track and field team has been voted as the favorite to win the 2013 Patriot League Outdoor Championship, according to the conference's preseason poll, which was announced Monday. The league's head coaches and sports information directors vote on the preseason poll.

Navy received 11 first-place votes and 95 total points to top the eight-team conference. Bucknell was second with 89 points and five first-place votes. Lehigh was third (72), followed by Army (63), Lafayette (47), Holy Cross (41), Colgate (27) and American (14).

Navy won the 2012 Patriot League Outdoor Championship with 156.5 points and head coach Carla Criste was named the Patriot League Coach of the Year. Navy placed second to Bucknell at the 2013 Patriot League Indoor Championship.

The Mids were also voted preseason favorites during the indoor season.

The 2013 Patriot League Outdoor Championship will be held from May 3-4 at Lehigh's campus in Bethlehem, Pa.

It was also announced on Monday that a pair of Mids earned Patriot League weekly honors for the first reporting window.

Sophomore Annie-Norah Beveridge was named the Patriot League Track-Athlete of the Week and freshman Marissa Stewart was named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week. The duo each had runner-up performances at the Tribe Invitational in Williamsburg, Va. this past weekend.

Beveridge, running in her first collegiate 10,000m race, placed second in the event with an ECAC-qualifying time of 37:01.55. Beveridge's time ranks ninth in the NCAA this season and moves her to ninth place on Navy's all-time performance list in the 10K.

Including cross country and indoor track, this is Beveridge's eighth career Patriot League weekly honor.

Stewart earned her first career Patriot League honor after placing second in the pole vault at William and Mary with a clear of 11-9¾ (3.60m). The height was her collegiate best and moved her into sixth place on Navy's all-time performance list in the event. Stewart also placed 11th in the 100m hurdles with a time of 16.72.
