Women's Track Heads to James Madison Invitational

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Navy women's track and field team will travel to the James Madison Invitational on Saturday in Harrisonburg, Va. The meet will begin with the 100m dash on the track and the pole vault for the field events.
Navy women's track and field team finished second of 20 teams at the George Mason Invitational last Saturday. Mids tally three ECAC-qualifying marks and 11 top-ten performances.
The Mids' discus throwers recorded three top-four finishes, which was led by senior Teronda Brown with a second-place finish of 151-2 (ECAC). Seniors Lauren Allam and Maress Guynn finished right behind Brown with marks of 150-0 (ECAC) and 148-7 (ECAC), respectively.
Guynn placed first in the hammer throw with a mark of 164-0 (50.00m). Brown finished sixth with a throw of 154-4 (47.04m). Brown also finished second in the shot put with a mark of 43-6.5 (13.27m).
Senior Veronica Ffrench placed sixth in the high jump with a mark of 5-5 (1.65m). Junior Amanda Graham recorded a sixth-place finish in the pole vault with a mark of 11-7.75 (3.55m). Freshman Ashley Krulick finished sixth in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 11:47.41.
The Mids will compete on Wednesday, April 23 at the McDaniel Twilight Meet before heading to the annual Penn Relays next weekend.
