ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Navy women's track and field team will compete at the 2013 ECAC Outdoor Championship at Princeton's Weaver Stadium this Friday to Sunday. Live results will be available.
Navy will be entering eight athletes in a total of five events this weekend. Athletes needed to meet certain qualifying standards during the season to be eligible for the postseason regional meet.
Junior Maressa Guynn will be the top-seed in the discus this weekend after she broke Navy's school record in winning the event at the Patriot League Outdoor Championship last weekend. Her mark of 170-6 (51.97m) was also a new Patriot League Championship meet record and she was named the field-athlete of the meet.
Brown will also be competing in the shot put. Brown broke Navy's shot put school record earlier this season with a mark of 47-5¾ (14.47m). Brown was the runner-up in the shot put and Allam was the runner-up in the discus at the conference meet.
Navy's fourth thrower competing at the ECAC Championship will be junior Alix Membreno. Membreno won the javelin at the Patriot League Championship last week.
Navy will also be competing in the 4x100m relay at Princeton.
The Mids won five events and were the runner-up in four events as the team placed second at the conference meet last weekend with 141 points. Bucknell won the team title.
The 2013 NCAA's East Regional Championship will be held in Greensboro, N.C. from May 23-25. Athletes must be ranked in the top-48 of their event to qualify for the NCAA regional meet. Guynn is currently Navy's top-ranked athlete in the East Region at No. 12 in the discus.
