Trio of Women’s Track and Field Mids Earn Academic All-District
ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Navy women’s track and field team placed three student-athletes – Lily Brose, Erin McDonnell, and Erin Seiffert – on the College Sports Information Directors Association (CoSIDA) First Team Academic All-District track & field/cross country team. By being named to the first team, Brose, McDonnell, and Seiffert are now eligible to earn CoSIDA Academic All-America team.
Brose has a 3.74 grade point average in quantitative economics. The senior served as team captain for the women’s track and field team this season. Brose is a six-time member of the Superintendent's List and a seven-time member of the Commandant's List. Brose is a two-time Second Team All-Patriot League performer, finishing second in the 4x400m relay in both indoor and outdoor competition. As a senior, she has four of the five fastest times this season in the 400m dash for the Midshipmen and ran the opening leg of the 4x400m relay.
McDonnell recorded a 3.70 GPA in oceanography. She was named Academic All-Patriot League and earned Second Team All-Patriot League in the indoor distance medley relay. McDonnell was named to Superintendent’s List twice, Commandant’s List three times, and Dean's List once. She finished 1st in 4 meets among Navy runners, including Army-Navy Star Meet, Patriot League Championship and NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional. McDonnell finished as runner-up at Army-Navy meet, while placing 20th out of 109 and 54th out of 198 at the league and regional meet. The Traverse City, Mich. native placed 13th at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals.
Seiffert boasts a 3.97 GPA in mathematics. She was named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll. Seiffert earned Second Team All-Patriot League accolades in the indoor distance medley relay. The Glen Gardner, N.J. native competed in five of the Midshipmen's seven meets on the year. Seiffert posted best finish at the Army-Navy Star Meet, finishing 10th and notched her fastest time of the season in the Patriot League Championships.
