Women's Track and Field Places 23 on Academic Honor Roll

June 30, 2017

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. -- The Navy women's track and field team had 23 student-athletes named to the Patriot League Women's Track and Field Academic Honor Roll, as announced Friday by the conference office.

Track and field athletes from the 10 league schools needed to attain at least a 3.20 grade-point average for the 2017 spring semester to earn the laurel. Two-hundred and thirty-four (294) women's track and field student-athletes were named to the honor roll, including 32 who posted a 4.00 grade point average for the grading period. The Midshipmen tallied 23 total student-athletes on the honor roll, including six with a 4.00 GPA.

Headlining the Mids' recipients were a pair of 2017 seniors who notched a 4.00 during their final semester at the Naval Academy -- Lily Brose (Corning, Calif.) and Erin Seiffert (Glen Gardner, N.J.).

Brose finished with a cumulative GPA of 3.77 in quantitative economics. The member of the Class of 2017 served as team captain for the women's track and field team this season. Brose was a seven-time member of the Superintendent's List. Brose was a two-time Second Team All-Patriot League performer, finishing second in the 4x400m relay in both indoor and outdoor competition as a senior.

Seiffert concluded her Navy career with a 3.98 cumulative GPA in mathematics. She was named to the Superintendent's List six times and notched a 4.00 GPA in seven of eight semesters. Seiffert earned Second Team All-Patriot League accolades in the indoor distance medley relay during the 2017 conference championship.

Joining Brose and Seiffert with 4.00 GPAs during the spring semester were Lindsay Arvin (Memphis, Tenn.), undeclared; Claire Chandler (San Diego, Calif.), oceanography; Anne Jendrysik (Sarasota, Fla.), undeclared; and Holly Weber (Jacksonville, Fla.), undeclared.
