Five Mids Named to League Academic Honor Roll for Volleyball

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. -- Five members of the Navy volleyball team were among the 89 student-athletes for the sport who qualified for the 2013 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll that was released this week by the league office.
Student-athletes must have attained at least a 3.20 grade-point average for the fall semester to be eligible for the league laurel.
Headlining Navy's recipients was Erin Fortner (Sr., Villa Hills, Ky.), who previously was named to the 2013 Patriot League All-Academic Team. Fortner posted a 3.87 GPA in the term as an honors oceanography major. Fortner is a four-time member of the academic honor roll.
Appearing on the list for the third time in as many years was J.B. Loomis (Jr., Havertown, Pa.). The ocean engineering major compiled a 3.81 GPA during the fall semester. Making her second honor roll in a row was Eleanor Derouin (So., Raleigh, N.C.). The chemistry major posted a 3.39 GPA in the fall.
Making their first respective appearance on the honor roll were Mallory Shelton (So., Fort Scott, Kan.) and Isabel Krause (Fr., Naples, Italy). Shelton, an English major, compiled a 3.50 GPA during the recently completed fall semester, while Kruase finished her first semester on The Yard with a 3.56 GPA.
