Links associated with this release: ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Naval Academy was well represented in terms of both players and coaches on the All-Navy men's and women's volleyball teams that recently competed in the United States Armed Forces Games in Honolulu, Hawaii. The women's team, which won a silver medal, had Academy graduates Lt. Nikki (St. Clair) Fox ('97), Ensigns Katie Blueming ('99), Sonja Hanson ('99) and Jenny Kindred ('98). In addition, Academy graduate Capt. Gina Foltz ('96) was a member of the All-Marine volleyball team that competed in Hawaii. At the end of the tournament, Fox and Blueming were selected to the All-Armed Forces Team. The men's team posted a 5-1 record in winning the gold medal in Hawaii. Academy graduates Cmdr. Ross Holcomb ('84), Lt. Chris Fassari ('95), Lt. Sean Burke ('97) and Lt. j.g., Dan Duhan ('98) were all members of the gold-medal winning team. Coaching the men's team was Naval Academy women's coach Mike Schwob. By leading the All-Navy team to victory in Hawaii, Schwob will now coach a team of players combined from each of the American military services to the World Military Games, to be held this summer in Rome. Fassari and Holcomb were both named to the All-Armed Forces team and were also selected from the All-Navy squad to compete in Rome.
