ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Three Midshipmen were named to the Patriot League's All-Decade Volleyball Team, it was announced Tuesday by the Patriot League office.

Representing Navy on the 10-person team were Katie Schulian, Rachel Shropa and Jen Williams.

Middle blocker Schulian was named to all-league teams in each of her four seasons and was recognized as the league's rookie of the year in 1991, as well as player of the year in her senior season of 1994. Schulian led the league in hitting percentage as both a sophomore and a senior. She ranks first in school history for highest career hitting percentage during the Division I era with a .345 percentage, as well as second in Navy history. Schulian's also ranks second in Navy history with 189 career service aces. In addition, she amassed 1,087 career kills, 442 career digs and 429 career blocks.

Middle blocker Shropa graduated from Navy this past spring. After being tabbed the league's rookie of the year in 1996, she was named first-team all-league in each of her three final seasons at the Academy. Shropa ranked among the top-four kill artists in the league in three of her fours seasons. She completed her career as the Navy leader in career kills with a four-year total of 1,577, while her career dig total of 1,270 ranks second.

Williams is also a member of Navy's class of 2000. She is the only player in league history to be named both offensive and defensive player of the year in her career. Williams was co-offensive player of the year in 1998, and was tabbed defensive player of the year in 1999. In addition, Williams garnered second-team all-league honors in 1997 and first-team in both of her final two seasons. Williams' career kill total of 1,373 ranks second in school history to Teammate Shropa, while her dig total of 1,013 stands third all-time at Navy.

"All three of these players have been an integral part of building the tradition of Navy volleyball," said head coach Mike Schwob, himself a former league coach-of-the-year honoree. "These are three deserving members of the league's all-decade team and we are proud of their accomplishments both on and off the volleyball court."

Colgate placed five members on the team, including Autumn McKienzie, middle hitter, class of 1987; Becca Galves, outside hitter, 1994; Judy Culhane, middle hitter, 2000; Vicki Shun, setter, 1991; and Julie Civardi, outside hitter, 1987. Army's Deann Machlan, outside hitter, 1996 and Bucknell's Katie Steele, middle blocker, 1996, rounded out the team.
