Navy Volleyball Sets NCAA Record

(Nov. 10) - In its marathon five-game victory over Loyola on Nov. 7, the Navy volleyball team set an NCAA record for most points scored in a single game. In the decisive fifth game, the Midshipmen defeated the Greyhounds by a score of 28-26. The 28 points scored by Navy broke the NCAA record of 26 points, set by California on Sept. 15, 2000, against Oregon. Navy served for the match a total of seven times in game five, with Loyola serving for victory five times. The two teams combined for 100 attempts in the fifth game, with Navy using 16 of its 18 substitutions.
