Three Mids Placed on the Patriot League Women's Cross Country 25th Anniversary Team

Jess Palacio, Annie-Norah Beveridge and Amy Watson were recognized.

Watson's Career Honors:
• NCAA Championship qualifier (2008)
• All-Mid-Atlantic Region Team (2008)
• Patriot League Outstanding Runner of the Meet (2008)
• First-Team All-Patriot League (2007, '08)
• ECAC Co-Runner of the Week (Sept. 18, 2008)
• Patriot League Runner of the Week (Sept. 3, 2008; Sept. 9, 2008; Sept. 16, 2008)
• Patriot League Academic Honor Roll (2007)

2008:
• Delivered one of the finest seasons in program history as a junior
• Ran in six meets, including the NCAA Championship
• Navy's top performer each time
• Won three races and finished second in another
• Finished 153rd out of 252 runners at the national championship with an impressive 21:37.1 clocking on a windy and cold morning
• Earned a spot in the NCAA Championship by finishing 21st out of 191 runners at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Region Championship
• Became first runner in program history to win the individual crown at the Patriot League Championship, as she finished in 21:23.5
• The Patriot League Championship was her first race back after an injury sidelined her for more than a month
• Opened the year with a first-place time at the Mount St. Mary's Invitational, completing the 5k course in 18:46.98
• Placed second out of 233 runners at the Fordham Invitational before winning the Salty Dog Invitational with a time of 22:26

2007:
• Emerged with an outstanding sophomore campaign
• Raced in seven meets, scoring in three and displacing in the other four
• Totaled three top-10 efforts on the year
• Came through for the Mids in the biggest races
• Claimed the individual title in the Star Meet at Army with a time of 24:06.62, nearly 12 seconds ahead of Army's top runner
• Followed that performance with the team's best time, fifth overall, at the Patriot League Championship
• Concluded the race with a time of 21:39.9
• Also scored in the Salty Seadog Invitational, placing 21st among the field of 96 runners with a 23:33 clocking
• Finished 14th at the Dartmouth Invitational with a 21:39.5 showing
• Commenced the year with a 29th-place time of 19:35.89 during the 5k Covered Bridge Open
• Recorded the team's sixth-fastest clocking at the Paul Short Invitational and NCAA Mid-Atlantic Region Championship

2006:
• Competed in three meets as a rookie
• Owned Navy's top time in the 4,200-meter event of the Harry Lang Invitational, crossing the finish line in 17:31
• Ran to a 6k 23:52.60 time at Penn State's Spiked Shoe Invitational

• 3,000m - 9:47.59
• 5,000m - 17:08.28

High School:
• Attended North Carroll High School, where she earned three letters in cross country, three in tennis and two in track
• Won the cross country state championship as a junior in 2004
• Three-time all-state and all-county selection
• Named team MVP three times during her career
• Served as cross country team captain during her senior year
