Women's Cross Country Places 11th in Panorama Farms Invitational
Christina Blair finished 37th overall, two places behind Beveridge

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Senior Annie-Norah Beveridge led Navy with a 35th-place finish overall in the Panorama Farms Invitational on Saturday. Against a talented field with nationally-ranked squads, the Navy women's cross country squad finished 11th out of 14.
"Against a good group of schools, our team did what we asked them to do," said head coach Karen Boyle. "(Annie-Norah) Beveridge and (Christina) Blair paced our squad with the rest of team staying as a pack on a tough course. Overall, our team got better as a whole and will be ready in the coming weeks before the Patriot League Championship."
Behind Beveridge's 18:09.7 finishing time, Blair came in 37th overall with a time of 18:10.8. Freshman Mary-Cate Scully finished 74th, crossing the tape at 18:54.2
Virginia, as the host school, narrowly edged nationally-ranked William & Mary with 42 points and three top-10 finishers. William & Mary placed second with two top-10 finishers and 67 points. Eastern Kentucky, Harvard and Ole Miss rounded the top five with 118, 142 and 148, respectively.
William & Mary's Elaina Balouris finished first, crossing the finish line at 16:31.8. Following a Virginia runner, Balouris' teammate Emily Stites came in third with a time of 16:34.
Navy looks ahead to the Paul Short Run on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 11 a.m.
