"After the way our distance runners finished the track season this spring, I'm very excited for cross country to begin," said head coach Karen Boyle. "We had a lot of important, confidence-building performances throughout both the cross country and track seasons last year that will carry over to this fall.
"The returnees are very optimistic and the incoming plebe class is the strongest in number - as well as in talent - that I've had in my career."
Navy will kick off the season on Sept. 2 with the Mount St. Mary's Duals in Emmitsburg, Md. The Mids last opened the season with the Mount St. Mary's Duals in 2009 where they went 5-0.

The Mids will have a week off before returning to competition at the Paul Short Invitational in Bethlehem, Pa., on Sept. 30. The meet, which will feature several top teams from around the nation, will serve as a tune-up for the Patriot League Championship, which will be hosted on the same course.
The annual Army-Navy dual will take place Oct. 14 in West Point, N.Y. Navy has won three of the last five meets between the programs.
Navy will look to reclaim the Patriot League title for the first time since 2008 when Lehigh University hosts the conference championship in Bethlehem, Pa., on Oct. 29.
