Navy Women's Cross Country Tabbed Again to Win Patriot League Title

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - The Navy women's cross country team is the heavy favorite to win the 2013 Patriot League Championships, the conference office announced on Thursday, Aug. 22. The Midshipmen received 18 out of the 20 first-place votes. Navy is shooting for a three-peat, having won back-to-back conference titles in 2011 and 2012.
Returning to lead the Mids for their potential three-peat is 2012 Patriot League Individual Champion junior Annie-Norah Beveridge (Ann Arbor, Mich). Beveridge won the Patriot League individual title with a time of 21:45.4, which was 19 seconds apart from the next finisher, which was former teammate Brigid Byrne (Vienna, Va.). Kelley Robinson (Nederland, Colo.), who placed sixth in the conference championship, also returns for her sophomore campaign.
2012Patriot League Championship runner-up, Bucknell, was picked to finish second again this season with two first-place votes.
Navy starts the 2013 season with a road trip to Emmitsburg, Md. for the Mount St. Mary's Duals on Friday, Aug. 30 at 1 p.m. Following the road trip, the Mids return home for the Salty Dog Invitational.
