CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – After a first place finish for the Navy women’s cross country squad at the Salty Dog Invitational, senior Annie-Norah Beveridge and Brenna MacDannold were named Patriot League M-F Athletic Runner and Rookie of the Week on Monday, Sept. 14. The Mids competed with good competition, including Maryland and American who are ranked in the top-15 in the USTFCCA Mid-Atlantic Region poll.
Beveridge is two-for-two in 2013 for individual meet titles, winning at the Mount St. Mary’s meet and now the Salty Dog Invitational. The Ann Arbor, Mich. native has now led the Midshipmen in the last eight meets. The senior runner tallied her seventh career Patriot League weekly award which topped American’s Keira Carlstrom (2002-05) for the most in Patriot League history.
MacDannold tallied her first career weekly award after placing 11th overall at the Salty Dog Invitational. The freshman was the fourth finisher for Navy behind Beveridge, Kelly Robinson and Christina Blair.
Navy is idle this week and will return to competition on Saturday, Sept. 28 for the Panorama Fams Invitational, hosted by Virginia in Charlottesville, Va.
