Sept. 24, 2012
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Navy women's cross country runners Annie-Norah Beveridge and Kelley Robinson were both honored today by the Patriot League for their performances at the Toledo Bubble Buster last weekend. Beveridge was named the conference's M-F Athletic Runner of the Week, while Robinson was tabbed the M-F Athletic Rookie of the Week.
Beveridge is the league's Runner of the Week for the second consecutive week and third time this season. This week's honor comes after she led all Navy runners and took 14th out of 172 runners at the Toledo Bubble Buster last weekend. The native of Ann Arbor, Mich., posted a time of 13:37 on the 4k course as Navy finished 10th in a meet that featured four teams ranked the nation's top-30 poll.
With three Patriot League Runner of the Week awards this season, Beveridge matches Jess Palacio's total from 2011.
Robinson was Navy's top freshman finisher at the meet, taking 72nd with a time of 14:19. She is the first Mid to be named Patriot League Rookie of the Week since Shannon Cuthbert on Oct. 17 last season.
Navy will return to action on Friday at the Paul Short Run in Bethlehem, Pa.
