Oct. 1, 2012
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - The Patriot League announced today that Navy cross country sophomore Annie-Norah Beveridge has been named the M-F Athletic Runner of the Week and freshman Kelley Robinson has been named the M-F Athletic Rookie of the Week. It marks the third consecutive week Beveridge has been named the M-F Athletic Runner of the week and the second straight week Robinson has earned the league's rookie honor.
Beveridge's four M-F Athletic Patriot League Runner of the Week honors in 2012 are the most ever by a runner in a single season. The native of Ann Arbor, Mich., helped Navy to a 10th-place finish at the 38th-annual Paul Short Run on Friday by taking 15th out of the 360 total runners. She finished the 6k race with a time of 20:25.
The 40-team field at the Paul Short Run included three teams ranked in the top-10 national poll, as well as 20 schools that are ranked in the top-15 in their respective USTFCCCA regional polls.
Robinson placed 67th out of 360 competitors at the Paul Short Run with a time of 21:44 in the 6K Gold Race. She was Navy's third finisher, and the fourth out of all Patriot League runners.
The Mids are off this weekend but will return to the course on Oct. 13 when they host Army in the annual Star Meet.
