CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Navy sophomore Annie-Norah Beveridge has been named the M-F Athletic Patriot League Runner of the Week, it was announced by the conference office today. Beveridge has now earned the league's weekly honor after each of her last four races. Her five total M-F Athletic Patriot League Runner of the Week awards in 2012 are the most ever by a runner in a season.
Beveridge led Navy to a 20-40 win over rival Army in the Star Meet last weekend by running a U.S.N.A. course record time of 21:13.9 in the 6K. The native of Ann Arbor, Mich., was 24 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher and shattered the previous course record of 21:45 set by American's Keira Carlstrom in 2004.
Beveridge has been Navy's top finisher in five of six meets this season. She has twice been the top overall finisher and has placed in the top-15 in all six meets.
Navy will be off this weekend but will return to action on Oct. 27 when it travels to Hamilton, N.Y., to defend its Patriot League title.
