ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Navy women's cross country freshman Shannon Cuthbert was named Patriot League Rookie of the Week, it was announced by the conference on Monday. Cuthbert was the top-finishing freshman in last Friday's win over Army.

Cuthbert clocked a time of 21:59.7 in the 6k race to place sixth overall as the Mids defeated the Black Knights, 25-31, at the West Point Golf Course. The Orange Park, Fla., native has been one of Navy's top-five finishers in all five meets this season.

The Rookie of the Week honor is the second of Cuthbert's career as she also claimed the award on Sept. 6 after the first meet of the season.

Cuthbert and the Mids will have this weekend off to prepare for the Patriot League Championship on Oct. 29 in Bethlehem, Pa.
