ANNAPOLIS, Md.--The 24th-ranked Navy Men's Rugby Team (11-7) will play host to sixth-ranked Army (10-3-1) on Friday, April 9 at 7:30 p.m. at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for youth under 18. Midshipmen and Cadets will be admitted free. There is also a $5 charge for parking at the stadium.
Tickets will be on sale day of the match at the stadium box office, which is located in the North End Zone of Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. Stadium gates open at 6 p.m.
This will be the second meeting of the year for the two teams. Army won the first match in November, 40-14, at West Point.
For the third consecutive year the spring match is being held at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. The last two years have provided exciting rugby, with both matches being decided in the final minutes. In 2008, Navy held on for a 19-17 victory, as the clock ran out on an Army comeback. Last year, Army erased a 20-5 halftime deficit, taking the lead with under 3 minutes remaining and went on to win, 38-28.
Navy Rugby, established in 1963, fosters a warrior ethos that routinely produces young officers who go on to serve in the most demanding warfare communities in the Navy and Marine Corps.
