ANNAPOLIS, Md.--Five of the top nine and eight of the top 17 Naval Academy graduates based on overall order of merit in the Class of 2010 participated in club sports, including Scott Carper of the marathon team and Kyle Englund-Krieger of the cycling team who finished second and third respectively.
Other top graduates were Chandler Brewer (sixth, hockey), Keegan Kinkade (eighth, hockey), Ruben Zweiban (ninth, boxing), David Heuwetter (14th, powerlifting), Luke Finney (16th, marathon), Lindsey Asdal (17th, international pistol), William Garland (37th, marathon), Joseph Sheffield (44th, marathon), Scott Simpson (47th, powerlifting), Johanna Mahoney (52nd, marathon), Jeremiah Olver (65th, boxing), Meagan Geuther (68th, rugby), Chris O'Brien (87th, boxing) and Clifton McKenzie (98th, rugby).
In total, 40 of the Top 100 graduates were involved in either varsity (24) or club (16) sports, including the top six graduates and eight of the top nine.
