Adam Pecina, MEd, ATC, is in his fifth year as an athletic trainer at the United States Naval Academy. He joined the staff in August 2008, and currently serves as the athletic trainer for the men's basketball, men's tennis, and squash programs.
Prior to Navy, Pecina spent eight years at Wake Forest University. He began as an intern with the football team in 2000, and transitioned to a full-time position in 2002 with the Demon Deacons women's soccer and men's tennis teams.
On the international scene, Pecina served as an athletic trainer for the USA tennis and modern pentathlon teams at the 2004 Olympic Summer Games in Athens, Greece. In addition, he traveled to the Dominican Republic with the USA tennis and swimming teams for the 2003 Pan-American Games.
From 1998 to 2000, Pecina was an assistant athletic trainer at Tyler Junior College, where he worked primarily with the baseball program. During that time, he earned his Master of Education in Health & Kinesiology from the University of Texas at Tyler (May 2000).
A native of Royse City, Texas, Pecina chose the University of Texas at Austin for his undergraduate education. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 1998.
Pecina currently resides in Annapolis and is engaged to Kaitlin Bailey of Dunkirk, Md.
