He has been involved with 15 bowl games at Navy, three NCAA Men's Basketball Tournaments, four NCAA women's lacrosse tournaments and three NCAA baseball tournaments. In 2015, quarterback Keenan Reynolds finished fifth in the Heisman Trophy voting and won the Sullivan Award, which is given to the nation's most outstanding amateur athlete. In 2017, the women's lacrosse team became the first female Service Academy team to make the final four in any sport.
Strasemeier started at Navy in 1991 as an intern before moving up to Assistant Sports Information Director for four years. In 1996, he became the Sports Information Director, from which he would become of Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Information in 2003 and then his current title in 2007 as Associate Athletic Director for Sports Information.
The Sports Information staff was named one of the Top 11 SID staffs in the country by the Football Writers Association in both 2010 and 2016.
Strasemeier earned his bachelor's degree in Sports Marketing & Management from Indiana University in 1991. He currently resides in Annapolis with his wife, Kristen.
